Kanye and Lauryn Hill to collaborate

The big news from MTV.com today is that two of the music industry's biggest thieves might be teaming up for a heist.

Peep:

More than six drama-filled years after the release of her Grammy-winning solo debut, it looks like Lauryn Hill's sophomore studio album is finally nearing fruition — with a little help from Kanye West, perhaps.

The pair have collaborated on at least two songs, and while it isn't certain that the collaborations will make the album's final track listing, given West's spiritual slant, the producer seems like a perfect fit for Hill, whose music has taken an ethereal turn in recent years.

Still, the pair's collaboration is somewhat ironic, considering that West sampled a Hill song for the original version of his track, "All Falls Down." The then-relatively unknown producer couldn't get clearance to use Hill's performance and re-recorded the song using singer Syleena Johnson.

What's also ironic is that both of their heavily Grammy-nominated debut albums featured ghost production by John Legend, who can't sing at all. Will Rhymefest be writing verses on this new Lauryn Hill album? I haven't heard anything, but I'm going to go ahead and assume so anyway.

Because it's like my grandmother used to say: If you lie, you steal.

He did the beat for that song "Everything is Everything." Lots of people did beats and songwriting on that album.

She screwed a whole gang of people who did song writing and production on her first album out of their credits and royalties.

Hey...this is my first draft for my letter regarding Kanyegate to Time Magazine. Keep in mind that I was trying to be more formal, since we all know time magazine is run by Republicans. Someone proofread this shit.

Subject: Grammy for Album of the Year
Hello. I, as a faithful suscriber and reader of your magazine, was shocked at the exclusion of the recent controversy over Kanye West's album "The College Dropout", which was nominated for Album of the Year. I am sure you have heard of this controversy, but in the case that you have not, I will discuss it briefly. Kanye West's most popular song, "Jesus Walks", was produced entirely and written mostly by a little known Indianapolis-based MC named Rhymefest. Now, I know he will receive a small mention if Mr. West wins this award, however, I: a) do not think this is enough, and more importantly, b) I do not think that artists should be rewarded for such practice of re-recording songs that were written in its majority by someone else. I do not think Mr. West deserves the award, however that is just my personal opinion. I however, insist that you at least mention the fact that this controversy exists. To promote this idea of preventing this practice to be condoned officially by the largest musical instituition in the world, a good friend of mine has started a petition. This petition is located online at this adress: www.petitiononline.com/mindset/petition.html. I do not ask for my opinions to be supported, I just want for the people to hear to both sides of the issue.
Thank you for your time,

Cool. I think I'm gonna work on contacting some media organizations also the next time I'm feeling motivated. I wouldn't worry too much about grammar or spelling. Just send the thing.

I have a suggestion....Instead of devoting an entire web site to the hatred of one man, why don't you go out into the world and actually accomplish something yourself. One more thing. Why not make a web site about a rapper who actually has no musical talent, they're not hard to find. You probably won't do any of that, because you're a bunch of low-life bitches that don't deserve a fuckin web site in the first place. You can knock Kanye's ability all you want, but I'd like to see any of you make me a beat that even comes close to a Kanye track.

I came upon this site by accident whilst looking for the release date of late registration and I can't believe the amount of time that people spend trying to hold others back!! Thats just retarded. While you sit here and make web sites and talk shit about Kanye, he is sitting back laughing and counting his money. You are all stupid, why don't you try doing something productive with yourself and then maybe you will make some money and with your newly aquired money maybe you won't be so pissed that he has money and you don't!

One look at your stupid petition and I know why America is in the Fear State its in today. Why don't you blog about something that can have an impact on tomorrow's generation of lost souls. Judge not, unless you be judged. Have you read that? Do you know that? You want to ban someone ban 50 Cent, on the grounds of spitting demoralizing stupidity or cliche rap. No, excuse me Hip-Hop. And poor Lauryn has and probably is going through H-e-l-l. Its a SHAME what we do to our most talented human beings. We devour their life energy, spit them out, and pick fun at them when they crumble. We are the cruelest spectators-Hip-Hop fans. For instance, Biggy's mom shouldn't be fighting alone for the justice of her son. The Hip-Hop nation is large enough demand justice. Despite their reputations and missteps our entertainers, who are seemingly elected officials by the people-we support them, should be backed just like ol' Monkey boy and the Whore before him. We should vindicate on their behalves against those who slay them in a civilized fashion.

Leave Kanye and Lauren Alone.
Go against someone your own size like Congress and the White House who are shitting our civil liberties away.
